1. Unshielded twisted pair cables are widely used in Ethernet. As the name suggests, the twisted pair in the cable is unshielded. Eight individual copper wires (22 or 24 gauge) are twisted into four pairs to limit signal damage caused by electromagnetic interference. UTP cables must comply with the specification, which specifies the number of twists allowed within the specified length. The relatively small diameter of the cable is advantageous during installation. The cable has a speed and throughput of 10 to 1000 Mbps, making it the most cost-effective network cable. The cable is very popular because it can be used effectively with most major network infrastructures

2. In shielded twisted pair cables, metal foil is used to wrap each pair of copper wires, and then they are completely wrapped in a metal braid. STP can not only reduce external interference such as EMI and RFI radiation, but also reduce electrical noise in the cable (such as crosstalk and pair-to-pair coupling). It is usually installed with STP data connectors, but RJ connector bases can also be used. Unlike UTP, the number of twisted pairs in this cable is only two, making it relatively difficult to install. When installing, you must ensure that the metal shields at both ends are properly grounded.
